Congress OKs 30,000 flying drones spying on Americans across U.S. cities

No big deal right? Not like our government abuses any of its powers at all..

Anyway, chances are you didn't know this and that's just how the government likes it. How many of you know the U.S. signed ACTA last year? Or NDAA on new years after Obama said he wouldn't sign it? Lol.

So a few days ago Congress passed the FAA Re-authorization Act which the president is expected to sign into law later on.

So what does it do? It makes it easier for the government to put loads of drones into the air above American skies. By 2015 regulations and testing will begin and by 2020 upwards of 30,000 projected drones will be flying over us.

These have been used over seas in the war efforts to spot terrorists do recon etc and have been used here on our borders. The Department of Homeland Security says it can be used to help find missing hikers, fight fires and so on.

But is that what they really want? Is 30,000 needed for that?

San Francisco has spent $700,000 buying public cameras back in 09 and a study has shown no drop in crime. Lol. But it did help catch 6 people after their crimes. Yay.

What do you guys think? Is this needed or is it another scare tactic to make us believe we need less freedoms for more safety?

San Francisco Surveillance

  1. more reasons to spend public money and tax the admin process that goes with it.....wait,, how many drones ?? i wonder who gets the contract for that then ....

  2. 1984 was meant to be a warning not a guide...

  3. In a country where it's legal to own a firearm I'm looking forward to people shooting them out the sky.

    1. Best idea ever! Kill ALL the violation of our privacy!

  4. Some of my american friends have asked if Britain is a police state with cameras in every corner. I don't know where they got that idea from, it seems to me that you guys are getting it a lot worse than we do. Seems ironic to me.

  5. I think the world is taking a wrong approach. Controlling people does not work. If they will cross the line revolutions will start. Look at the history, no empires that controlled people lasted. And none will. We should be creating a system in which you would no want to commit crimes instead of trying to control them. You should live healthy instead of using tons of medicine when you are sick. Feel me?
