Bringing Real Rap Hip-Hop Back #2

Shing02 ft Eccy - Ultimate High

For many of us, the first 2min might describe our life perfectly as it does for me.
Shingo Annen (born 1975), better known by his stage name Shing02, is a Japanese rap artist and producer. Due in part to growing up in Western cities, Shing02 stands as one of the few multilingual rappers from Japan able to compose songs entirely in either Japanese or English. His rhyming style makes use of lyrics which are largely conceptual in nature and his hip-hop sound is knowing for blending various influences, ranging from reggae to traditional Japanese music to jazz. The style of music has made him a significant presence within the underground rap community, and he has achieved recognition beyond the scene for rapping "Battlecry", the theme song of the hip-hop-influenced chanbara anime Samurai Champloo, produced by Japanese jazz rap DJ Nujabes.

Cyne - Steady

CYNE ("Cultivating Your New Experience") (pronounced "sign") is an American hip-hop group originating from Gainesville, Florida. Their often socio-politically charged, culturally-introspective, and motivational lyrics find influence rooted in blues, jazz, gaita zuliana, highlife, activism, humanities and philosophy. The group consists of emcees Akin and Cise Star, and producers Enoch and Speck, and are currently signed to City Centre Offices.

CYNE has collaborated with artists from around the world, including Nujabes, whose solo projects have featured Cise Star and Akin, and Four Tet, who produced several remixes for and toured with them in 2005.

Walkmen - Fortruss

Sadly I do not know much about this group. It was recommended to me by a friend. Anyway it does not take away from the fact these guys took the Empire Strikes Back song of Star Wars and put their own twist to it and rapped to it with a sick Star Wars themes. Straight clever.
