Here we go again..
Virginia Culpepers Sheriffs Department police got a call about a suspicious woman (Patricia A.Cook) sitting in a Jeep Wrangler in a church parking lot. The responding officer that showed up approached her car and according to him he asked for her identification.
At this point the officer claims that she rolled the window up catching his arm and took off in her car dragging him a bit. He said to of asked her to stop the car and she refused. Then shots were fired and she wrecked her vehicle down the block.
But there is a problem with this. There was a witness.
Meet Kris Buchele. A carpenter working on the house next door. He says he heard arguing and looked out the window where he had a clear view of the parking lot.
He describes an encounter which looked and sounded like the officer shooting a person a point blank range, not because he feared for his life, but because the woman did not obey his order to stop rolling up the window. Another angry cop..
"He was right next to the vehicle. He had one hand on the door handle and one hand on his weapon. And she was rolling the window up. And they were exiting out of the parkng lot.
The window was half way up he said 'stop or I'll shoot.' I really didn't think he was going to do it. But she got the window all the way up and that's when he shot. And then she took a left out of the parking lot here and he stepped out in the street and fired five more times," said Buchele
Hmm..Officer was not dragged, nor did he have his arm caught but had one hand on the handle of the door and one on his weapon pointed at her, and shot her though the window AFTER it was rolled up, BEFORE she took of and crashed.
The pastor of the woman and the husband said she may of been there looking for a job because because she loved her volunteer role teaching Sunday school at their church.
The husband is suing the police and the Virginia State police are investigating. No charges has been charges against the officer.
